Beautiful large green heart-shaped leaves with stunning red veins and stems. Also known as Taro Red Stem and Red Elephant Ear.

Water Zone: 2 (for pond edges or bog areas)

Outdoor Position: Full Sun / Part Shade in a sheltered location
Indoor Position:    Bright sunny spot near a window

Preferred Soil Type: Moist to wet. We recommend using Premium Potting Mix if potted. If adding plants to a pond that contains fish, we recommend using garden soil or potting mix with no added fertilisers. Then add a layer of pebbles to keep the soil from washing away.

Landscape Uses: Aquatic Garden, Tropical Garden, Courtyard, Container / Pot, Indoor Plant

Ongoing Care: Moist well-drained soil. Reduce watering in winter. Colocasias are tropical plants and may go dormant over Winter in cooler climates. Liquid feed and mulch if in garden or pot. Slow-release fertiliser annually or as needed. We recommend Campbells Rustica Plus Fertiliser. Fertilisers not generally needed if plant is in a pond that contains live fish.
