Crimson River Lily
Schizostylis coccinea
Clump forming bulb with upright sword like green leaves. Gorgeous red flowers on tall spikes bloom in Spring and Summer. Also known as Hesperantha coccinea and Kaffir Lillies, this plant is native to Southern Africa.

Position: Full Sun

Water Zone: 2 (for pond edges or bog areas)

Preferred Soil Type: Sandy, Loam. We recommend using Grow Better Premium Potting Mix if potted. If adding plants to a pond that contains fish, we recommend using garden soil or potting mix with no added fertilisers. Then add a layer of pebbles to keep the soil from washing away.

Landscape Uses: Aquatic Garden, Mass Planting, Borders, Courtyard, Container / Pot

Ongoing Care: Keep moist, particularly in dry periods. Liquid feed and mulch if in garden or pot. Slow-release fertiliser annually or as needed. We recommend Campbells Rustica Plus Fertiliser. Fertilisers not generally needed if plant is in a pond that contains live fish.
