Tulbaghia violacea
Gorgeous clumping plant that is very hardy and drought tolerant, with its clumps of pretty lilac flowers showing in Summer. Both foliage and flowers are edible and have a strong garlic smell. Also available in variegated form. Very versatile plant that performs well in many conditions.

Position: Full Sun / Part Shade

Water Zone: 2 (for pond edges or bog areas)

Preferred Soil Type: Any. We recommend using Grow Better Premium Potting Mix if potted. If adding plants to a pond that contains fish, we recommend using garden soil or potting mix with no added fertilisers. Then add a layer of pebbles to keep the soil from washing away.

Ongoing Care: Keep moist, particularly in dry periods. Liquid feed and mulch if in garden or pot. Slow-release fertiliser annually or as needed. We recommend Campbells Rustica Plus Fertiliser. Fertilisers not generally needed if plant is in a pond that contains live fish.
