LECA Balls
Lightweight Expanded Clay Aggregate (LECA) balls are used for hydroponic or semi-hydroponic gardening instead of soil for easier plant care and less maintenance time.

• Keeps soil-loving pests such as fungus gnats and aphids at bay, so perfect for many indoor plants.
• Provides the right amount of water for your plants. Reduces the chances of over-watering or under-watering.
• Provides the plant roots with an ideal balance of air and food.
• Due to the large gaps between the balls, water is easily evaporated giving the plant a humid environment. Reduces the need for misting tropical indoor plants.
• Less messy than soil and is reusable. Just make sure to clean the balls thoroughly before using with another plant.
• Add to potting mix to improve soil aeration and drainage while also retaining water.
• If using on its own, liquid fertilizers are required as the balls don’t have any nutrients. However, due to their porous nature, they will easily absorb any added nutrients.
• Neutral pH level.
• Long lasting as the balls are inorganic and do not rot.
• Plants that will do well in LECA balls are aroids like anthuriums, alocasias, monsteras, pothos and philodendrons, as well as calatheas, ctenanthes, hoyas, pileas and orchids.
