We, A&J Garden Nursery (“Company”, “we”, “our”, “us”) reserve the right to change or modify any of the Terms & Conditions contained in the Terms or any policy or guideline of the website (https://ajgardennursery.com.au/), at any time and in our sole discretion. Any changes or modification will be effective immediately upon posting of the revisions on the website, and you waive any right you may have to receive specific notice of such changes or modifications. Your continued use of this website following the posting of changes or modifications will confirm your acceptance of such changes or modifications.

General

Photos of plants shown on our website are a good representation of the actual plant for sale. Most of the time, the actual plant for sale is shown. However, as we have hundreds of plants for sale, this is not always possible. Plants are living things, so the appearance of the plant on our website may differ slightly to the one delivered. Every plant is unique, and their growth is seasonal.

Prices may change at any time without further notice. We make every effort to have the most accurate, up-to-date information. However, on occasion, one or more items on our website may be mis-priced. We reserve the right to refuse to honour any incorrect prices.

Plants that flower bloom at different times of the year, however there is no guarantee that the plants received will be flowering, even if it’s normally the time of year they are in flower. Edible plants that fruit do so at different times of the year, however there are no guarantees that the plant received will have fruit, even if it is that time of year.

All our plants are cared for by a qualified Horticulturist who takes every possible step to keep beautiful, healthy plants. We will not be held accountable for the care of plants once they leave our premises.

Easily pay with a PayPal, Apple Pay or Google Pay account or Credit Card via a link sent by email. These payment types incur a 2.8% surcharge.

Click & Collect

Once the order is ready for collection, you’ll receive an email with our address and open times. We are open by appointment only.  Please reply to the email with the day and time you want to collect your order, so we can have it ready for contactless pick up.

We offer same day Click & Collect for all orders purchased at least two hours prior to our closing time. In most cases, we can have your plants ready for contactless pick-up within 30 minutes of receiving your order. However, to guarantee same day collection, please place your order at least two hours prior to our closing time. If you want Same Day Click & Collect and have ordered after the cut-off time, please contact us and we’ll do our best to get your order ready before we close!

All Click & Collect plant purchases must be collected within 7 days of placing order by appointment only. If we don’t hear from you within the 7 days, we will provide a refund, less administration fee of 4% of total amount. If total amount is less than $22, an additional 30c fixed fee is included. It’s preferred, but not necessary, that all other items be collected within 7 days of placing order. Don’t hesitate to contact us to discuss your options if you can’t collect within 7 days of ordering.

If order isn’t collected as per appointment day/time, contact us asap to make another appointment. We will provide a refund, less administration fee of 4% of total amount if we don’t hear from you within 2 days of the missed appointment. An additional 30c fixed fee applies if total amount is less than $22.

If you advise that you no longer require the item due to change of mind etc. prior to collection, we will provide a refund, less administration fee of 4% of total amount. An additional 30c fixed fee applies if total amount is less than $22.

If for some reason you are not happy with items on pick up, please let us know before you leave, and we will replace it with another item of the same value or provide a full refund. Please check our Refund and Returns Policy for more information.

Local Delivery

All products available from our online store can be delivered to surrounding Melbourne suburbs within our Local Delivery Zones with the delivery fee automatically calculated at checkout. Please check our Delivery page for more information and pricing.

Orders must be pre-paid. We do not accept payment on delivery.

Free delivery is applied to online orders starting from $100 or more, depending on your location. Free delivery offer is for Local Delivery only and does not include plants and other items delivered via Australia Post or Courier, or plants purchased via our Buy In Bulk or Espalier Plants ordering services.

Local Delivery is available 7 days a week, including public holidays (except on Christmas Day). Same day delivery is available if ordered by cut-off times shown on our Delivery page. All other orders are delivered the next day. An email will be sent to advise delivery day and time. It is preferred that someone is available to receive the plants, but plants can be left in a safe place as directed by the buyer, at their own risk. If there is no safe place to leave the plants, they will be returned to our Nursery where delivery can be arranged for another day within 7 days at the same additional cost. Alternatively, the order can be collected from our nursery in Braybrook by the customer within 7 days at no additional cost.

Please let us know if you wish to have your order delivered on a specific day. Items must be delivered within 7 days of order being placed.

We cannot deliver to PO Boxes or Parcel Collect via our Local Delivery service.

Plants and other perishable items cannot be returned unless wrong products were delivered. Items must be photographed on the day of receiving and emailed to us within 24 hours. If we agree that the items are not what was ordered, we will pick up incorrect item and deliver the correct item at no cost to you. If item is no longer available, we will offer a full refund. If for some reason you are unhappy or have changed your mind about the non-perishable item you have purchased from us, you may return the item at your cost for a refund within 30 days (30-day return policy is for online orders only), minus Delivery fee. For a refund to be applicable, please contact us first before returning the item. The item must be undamaged, unused and in its original packaging when we receive it. Door-to-Door Courier

If you are not located in our Delivery Zones, we can arrange for larger items to be delivered using a same day delivery courier like Go People and Zoom2U. Plants are delivered in their nursery pots as these couriers offer a door-to-door service, from our Nursery direct to you.

For an accurate delivery quote, you must provide us with your shopping list and address. Make sure to include plant pot sizes and quantities of each item. Door-to-Door Couriers charge per kilometre, as well as per size of the items being delivered.

Delivery via Door-to-Door Courier is available 6 days a week, excluding Sundays and public holidays. Same day delivery may be available if payment received by 11.30am sharp, however this is not guaranteed. Most orders will be delivered the following day (unless it’s Sunday or a Public Holiday). Please contact us if you wish to have your order delivered on a specific day. Items must be delivered within 7 days of order being placed. It is preferred that someone is available to receive the plants, but plants can be left in a safe place as directed by the buyer, at their own risk.

If items ordered are too large for the Door-to-Door Courier to deliver, we will use an external plant specialist freighter that deliver Monday-Fridays only. Same day and next day delivery are not guaranteed as the plant specialist freighter deliver to certain locations only on certain days. Tracking is not available; however, we will advise when driver is on the way.

Orders must be pre-paid via invoice sent by email. We accept Pay ID, Credit Card, or PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay. We do not accept payment on delivery. Once order is with the courier, we are not responsible for any delays, loss or damage. Please note: PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Credit Card payments incur a 2.8% surcharge.

Postage & Handling (Melbourne Metro)

We use Australia Post’s Express Post service or Couriers Please to deliver plants bare-rooted and other items that fit easily inside a box for a flat rate of $16.99 for orders under 5kg to certain Melbourne suburbs only. The carrier used to deliver your parcel will depend on the final weight and size of the package. Flat rate Postage & Handling fee is applicable to most Melbourne Metro locations, but not all. If your location is eligible, it will show as an option at checkout.

Australia Post’s Express Post service:
Plants & Perishable Items

Plants and other perishable items that weigh 500g or less are sent via Australia Post’s Express Post service on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays only. We will aim to send orders the following business day. Orders placed on Wednesday through to Sunday will be sent the following Monday. Plants are not posted on national public holidays or Victorian state public holidays as Australia Post and Courier’s Please are closed on these days.

Orders must be pre-paid. We do not accept payment on delivery. Please check Australia Post website for estimated Delivery Times. Items are sent from Braybrook 3019. Check Australia Post’s Domestic Delivery Disruptions and Service Updates for any delays, disruptions and service updates affecting deliveries in your area. Once posted, we are not responsible for any delays, loss or damage.

In the unlikely event that your parcel is delayed, lost or damaged, Australia Post may provide compensation of up to $100, plus postage refund. As the receiver, it is your responsibility to submit a claim for compensation. Go to Australia Post’s website for more details.

We are very careful with packing and handling our plants. However, it is the responsibility of the purchaser to promptly unpack, plant and care for the plants appropriately once they arrive. We will not be held accountable for the care of plants once they leave our premises.

Items must be posted within 7 days of order being placed. If you no longer require your order due to change of mind etc. and you let us know before items are posted, we will provide a refund, less administration fee of 4% of total amount. An additional 30c fixed fee applies if total amount is less than $22.

Once plants and other perishable items have been delivered, they cannot be refunded or returned unless wrong items were sent. The items must be photographed on the day of receiving and emailed to us within 24 hours. If we agree that the items are not what was ordered, we will send the correct item at no cost to you. Non-Perishable Items

​We also deliver non-perishable items that fit easily inside a box weighing 500g or less, using Australia Post’s Express Post service with Postage & Handling fee automatically calculated at checkout. We do not accept payment on delivery. Please check Australia Post website for estimated Delivery Times. Items will be sent from Braybrook 3019. We take the utmost care when packing. Check Australia Post’s Domestic Delivery Disruptions and Service Updates for any delays, disruptions and service updates affecting deliveries in your area. Once posted, we are not responsible for any delays, loss or damage. If you are in NT, WA or Tasmania and wish to purchase non-perishable items only, please contact us.

In the unlikely event that your parcel is delayed, lost or damaged, Australia Post may provide compensation of up to $100, plus postage refund. As the receiver, it is your responsibility to submit a claim for compensation. Go to Australia Post’s website for more details.

Non-perishable items will be posted Monday-Friday. We will endeavour to post non-perishable orders within 24 hours. Orders placed on Friday will be posted the following Monday (or Tuesday if Monday is a public holiday).

Couriers Please:

Packages containing plants or other perishable items weighing over 500g are sent via Couriers Please on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays only. We will aim to send orders the following business day at the latest. Orders placed after 12pm Wednesday will be sent the following Monday (or Tuesday if Monday is a public holiday). Parcels cannot be sent on national public holidays or Victorian state public holidays.

Orders must be pre-paid. We do not accept payment on delivery. Estimated delivery time is one business day. Once package has been collected from our premises by the courier, we are not responsible for any delays, loss or damage.

Couriers Please cannot deliver to PO Boxes or Parcel Collect. If the delivery address is a PO Box or Parcel Collect and the parcel weighs more that 500g, we will ask you to provide a home or work address. If you still prefer to have your package delivered to a PO Box or Parcel Collect, an invoice for any outstanding Postage & Handling via Express Post fee will be sent. We will post the package once payment has been received.

Packages require Signature on Delivery and do not have authority to leave (ATL). Anyone at the delivery location can sign for the parcel. If there is no one to sign for the parcel, it will be taken to a collection point where the recipient will need to show ID to collect the parcel.

In the unlikely event that your parcel is delayed, lost or damaged, Couriers Please may provide compensation. As the receiver, it is your responsibility to submit a claim for compensation. Go to the Couriers Please website for more details.

Gifts (Corporate/Party Favours)

Quotes are valid for 24 hours only as prices and availability can change on a daily basis. If you need more time to decide, not a problem. We’ll just need to confirm the items are still available at the price originally quoted.

Corporate Gifts & Party Favours are available for Click & Collect or Local Delivery only. Check our Delivery page for our flat rate Local Delivery prices. If your postcode isn’t included in our Local Delivery Zone, we may still be able to deliver using a Courier. Please contact us with your address for a quote.

Party Favours have a minimum order quantity of 10, with prices depending on quantity. We recommend placing orders at least 3 months prior to your function.

All other Terms & Conditions associated with Click & Collect and Local Delivery apply.

Gift Vouchers

You agree to these terms when you purchase, activate, redeem, enquire or attempt to use a gift voucher. We may amend these terms at any time without notice.

The person who receives the gift voucher can exchange it for items from our online shop only to the value of the amount on the card. Items available from our Buy In Bulk, Espalier Plants, Corporate Gifts & Party Favours and Garden Design services are not included. Gift vouchers can’t be exchanged for cash.

Our gift vouchers are valid for 3 years from purchase date and available in electronic form only sent via email. It is the purchaser’s responsibility that the receiver’s email address is correct.

Where you purchase these gift vouchers as a personal or business gift, or for other business uses approved by the issuer, you must ensure that the end gift voucher holder is made aware of these terms, including the expiry date of 3 years.

Gift voucher holders are responsible for the use and safety of their gift voucher at all times. A gift voucher must be treated as cash as it will not be reissued, refunded or honoured if lost or stolen. Any balance remaining on a gift voucher after the expiry date will not be able to be redeemed by the gift voucher holder.

If the purchase price exceeds the balance of the gift voucher, the gift voucher holder must pay the difference using another payment method. No change will be given and any balance on the gift voucher may only be used in whole or in part against future purchases.

A gift voucher cannot be reloaded, used for cash advances or redeemed for cash. It also cannot be used to purchase other gift vouchers. A gift voucher cannot be exchanged for a different brand, denomination or type of gift voucher.

Coupons

We may offer discounts or coupon codes from time to time.

Discounts and coupon codes are not available in conjunction with any other offer (for example, if we have two promotions on offer at the same time, you can only apply one discount or coupon code to a purchase, not both).

Each coupon is valid for a limited time only and expires on the date specified or until stocks last (whichever occurs first).

Unless we specify otherwise in our offer, discounts and coupon codes are available on certain items or full-priced items only. Discount coupons cannot be used when purchasing Gift Vouchers.

Coupon codes are non-transferable and are not redeemable for cash under any circumstances.

We reserve the right to revoke any discount offer or coupon code at any time without notice.

Coupons are only applicable to Credit Card, Debit Card, PayPal, Apple Pay or Google Pay online purchases and are redeemable at Checkout.

To redeem the coupon, click on “Have a coupon? Click here to enter your code” at Checkout, type in the code and the relevant discount will be automatically deducted from the final price of the qualifying purchase. If the claimant fails to enter the coupon code at the time of purchase as specified, the purchase will not be eligible for the discount. Discounts may not be claimed after confirmation of a claimant’s purchase.

Espalier Plants

We order plants in Espalier form direct from reputable grower Merrywood Plants. We do not have these plants available at our Nursery to purchase directly. Please choose carefully as these plants are special ordered and cannot be refunded.

Bulk discounts apply to quantities of 3 or more espaliered plants.

Prices or availability cannot be confirmed until we place the order with supplier. We will let you know asap if prices have changed, or if plants have sold out before continuing with order.

Full payment required at time of ordering. We accept Pay ID, Credit Card, or PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay. PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Credit Card payments incur a 2.8% surcharge.

Espalier plants cannot be ordered until payment is received. Though our payment via Pay ID, Credit Card, and PayPal are received instantly, on occasion, payment may be held for up to 24 hours as a security measure.

Pick up from our Nursery is available for small sizes or quantities only within 1-10 business days of placing order. We hold plants for maximum 3 days only. After this time, holding charges of 1.5% of stock value per day will apply.

Delivery can be arranged direct from our supplier to most locations in Australia, except Northern Territory, Western Australia, and Tasmania due to quarantine restrictions. Please allow 1-10 business days for delivery. For a delivery quote, please provide your address.

Buy in Bulk

We order plants in our Buy in Bulk range direct from reputable growers or suppliers. Included in our Buy in Bulk range are trees, shrubs, standards, fruit trees, ground covers & climbers that are not available to purchase from our online store. Please choose carefully as these plants are special ordered and cannot be refunded.

Bulk discounts apply to quantities of 5 or more plants. Prices quoted depend on the quantity of total number of plants. The higher the quantity, the lower the price per plant.

Quotes are valid for 24 hours only as prices and availability can change daily. If you need more time to decide, not a problem. We will confirm if prices and availability quoted are still correct.

Prices or availability cannot be confirmed until order is placed with supplier. We will let you know asap if prices have changed, or if plants have sold out before continuing with order.

All plants sold by pot size, not height as heights can vary. We cannot guarantee that the plants you receive will be of a specific height. However, we can provide an approximate height if that information is available from the grower/supplier. Please note: Standards normally sold by both pot size and trunk height.

Flowering plants bloom at different times of the year. There is no guarantee that flowers will be showing at time of purchase, even if it is normally the time of year they are in flower. Edible plants fruit at different times of the year. We cannot guarantee that plants will have fruit at time of purchase, even if it is that time of year.

Some plants are seasonal and may not be available all year round.

Full payment required at time of ordering. We accept Pay ID, Credit Card, or PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay. PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Credit Card payments incur a 2.8% surcharge.

Plants cannot be ordered until payment is received. Though our payment via Pay ID, Credit Card, and PayPal are received instantly, on occasion, payment may be held for up to 24 hours as a security measure.

Pick up from our Nursery is possible for smaller plants and/or quantities only within 1-10 business days of placing order. We hold plants for maximum 3 days only. After this time, holding charges of 1.5% of stock value per day will apply.

If you cannot pick up from our Nursery, or for larger plants and/or quantities, we will arrange delivery straight from our supplier.  Please allow 1-10 business days for delivery. Delivery is available to most locations in Australia, except Northern Territory, Western Australia, and Tasmania due to quarantine restrictions. For a delivery quote, please provide your address.
