Persicaria bistorta Superba
Beautiful herbaceous perennial with lance shaped dark green leaves and a white stripe down the leaf centre. Foliage turns red in Autumn. Gorgeous pink fluffy flower spikes appearing from late Spring.

Position: Full Sun / Part Shade

Water Zone: 2 (for pond edges or bog areas)

Landscape Uses: Bog Garden, Courtyard, Screening, Hedging, Cottage Garden, Container / Pot, Attracting Birds & Bees

Preferred Soil Type: Moist, Well Drained. We recommend using Grow Better Premium Potting Mix if potted. If adding plants to a pond that contains fish, we recommend using garden soil or potting mix with no added fertilisers. Then add a layer of pebbles to keep the soil from washing away.

Ongoing Care: Keep moist during very dry periods. Deadhead spent flowers. Prune hard once flowering ends. Liquid feed and mulch if in garden or pot. Slow-release fertiliser annually or as needed. We recommend Campbells Rustica Plus Fertiliser. Fertilisers not generally needed if plant is in a pond that contains live fish.
