Very tall stems crowned with tufts of green. Originally from Africa, green-brown flowers show in Summer followed by brown nutty fruits. Roots and stem are edible.

Mature Height: 60-90cm | Mature Width: 60-90cm

Position: Full Sun / Part Shade

Water Zone: 3 (0-20cm plant depth)

Preferred Soil Type: Clay, Loam. We recommend using Grow Better Premium Potting Mix if potted. If adding plants to a pond that contains fish, we recommend using garden soil or potting mix with no added fertilisers. Then add a layer of pebbles to keep the soil from washing away.

Landscape Uses: Aquatic Garden, Tropical Garden, Mass Planting, Hedging, Screening, Courtyard, Container / Pot, Under Trees, Cut Flowers

Ongoing Care: Keep moist, particularly in dry periods. Liquid feed and mulch if in garden or pot. Slow-release fertiliser annually or as needed. We recommend Campbells Rustica Plus Fertiliser. Fertilisers not generally needed if plant is in a pond that contains live fish.
