Rumex sanguineus
Herbaceous perennial with gorgeous green leaves and striking red veins. An ornamental vegetable with a hint of lemon. Add to sauces, soups and salads.

Position: Full Sun / Part Shade, keep sheltered from hot afternoon sun

Water Zone: 2 (for pond edges or bog areas)

Landscape Uses: Edible Garden, Cottage Garden, Mass Planting, Aquatic Garden, Bog Garden, Courtyard, Container / Pot, Attracting Bees

Preferred Soil Type: Moist, Well Drained. We recommend using Grow Better Premium Potting Mix if potted. If adding plants to a pond that contains fish, we recommend using garden soil or potting mix with no added fertilisers. Then add a layer of pebbles to keep the soil from washing away.

Ongoing Care: Keep moist, particularly in dry periods. May need staking. Liquid feed and mulch if in garden or pot. Slow-release fertiliser annually or as needed. We recommend Campbells Rustica Plus Fertiliser. Fertilisers not generally needed if plant is in a pond that contains live fish.
Please note: If using fertiliser or liquid feed high in Nitrogen, only use small amounts as too much may cause the plant to lose its variegation.
